Shiels Opens Chiropractic Clinic in St. Marys


Dr. Jon Shiels opened in Camden County Clinic of Chiropractic - a new Chiropractic clinic in St. Marys - in September after a 16-year career in law enforcement.

Shiels, a former sheriff's deputy in Boulder, Colo., Said his previous career led him to become a chiropractor Because of the physical challenges that came with the job.

While Shiels worked as a SWAT and K-9 officer, they said they visited a chiropractor Because they suffered from lower-back pain, allergies and severe daily headaches, and said the chiropractor was Able to help solve his physical problems.

Shiels said they had been thinking about changing careers for a while, but one event in particular helped him make up his mind.

"Towards the end of my career, I was on one of the SWAT teams that searched Columbine [High School]," said Shiels. "That was the final thing that made me say, 'It's time to change careers." "

Shiels said they finished with law enforcement in 2002 and began in 2003 Chiropractic school at Life University in Marietta.

Shiels Obtained his doctorate in Chiropractic from Life University Chiropractic College. He is certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and has an advanced certification in the knee, chest and upper-cervical adjusting and analysis.
