The Federal Aviation Administration has repaired a glitch in its system that delayed flights across the nation this morning, but caused relatively few problems at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
According to the FAA, flight plans that are normally have entered into the system electronically had to be manually inputted earlier today, which was time consuming and contributed to the delays. The problem was described as an efficiency issue and not a safety matter, the FAA spokeswoman Diane Spilaliere said.
Delta Airlines officials said the outage was causing significant delays, but Delta was working with the FAA to get passengers Thurs their destinations.
