ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Law and Justice Afzal Sindhu on Saturday issued the list of beneficiaries of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO),
Addressing a press conference here, he said a total of 8041 were benefited from no, adding that 7793 were from Sindh only.
Sindhu said that President Asif Ali Zardari and MQM Chief Altaf Hussain are also among the beneficiaries. The number of cases against Altaf Hussain was 72
State Minister said that 34 politician, three diplomats and bureaucrats are among 248 beneficiaries of the no.
The politician who benefited from NO are President Asif Ali Zardari, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain, Dr Farooq Sattar, Kanwar Khalid Younus, Shoaib Bukhari, Dr Ishratul Ibad, Wasim Akhtar, Safdari Baqri, Babar Ghauri, Shehzad Saleem, Agha Siraj Durrani, Nusrat Bhutto , Kabeer Khan, Jahangir Badar, Rehman Malik, Mushtaq Awa, Rana Nazir, Anwar Saifullah, Aftab Sherpao, Mirbaz Khetran, Yousuf Talpur, Ahmad Sadiq and Javed Qureshi.
Brigadier Imtiaz, Salman Farooqi, Usman Farooqi, diplomats and Hussain Haqqani, Wajid Shamsul Hassan Siddiqui and AR are also among the beneficiaries.
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and his wife are not among the beneficiaries of NO, Sindhu said and added that Gilani has been acquitted honourably from the court.
State Minister further said that President Asif Ali Zardari will face the cases after the end of his Presidential term as President has constitutional protection.
They said that no cases of will reopen from November 28, and the government will accept the decision of the Court in this regard.
